Melana Bontrager

Wicked Cellars' latest featured artist is Melana Bontrager. Melana works with India ink and acrylic on canvas. Her art integrates organic forms and shapes into abstract, landscape-esque paintings. Inspired by the beauty of nature, her work is loosely based on places she has been, influenced by the beauty of the Washington and Oregon Coasts. Using a rich color palette and whimsical line she depicts simple, true elements of nature with a depth that challenges the human tendency to overlook what is familiar to the eye.

Melana has a bachelor’s degree in fine art from Taylor University in Indiana and has additionally studied painting/drawing at both SACI (Studio Art Centers International) in Florence, Italy and at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York.

Our May Everett Art Walk event on Saturday, May 17th from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. will feature Melana's newest creations. Come and join us for the fun of this opening event!
